Cure for Visual macular degeneration?

Is there anything to cure the release of the vision of macular damage? I have 72 years of age. Is there any aivalable surgery? Blessings.

Treatment of macular degeneration has been disappointing to date. In the best available treatments most to help prevent further loss of vision rather than improve vision. Lucentis (recently approved by the FDA) is the only drug that has shown improve vision in the setting of a randomized clinical trial. At present, there is no treatment that can "cure" or reverse macular degeneration its course. There is hope however, that with all the research being carried out to define the disease process at the molecular and genetic treatments future will offer more promise. Currently, there are two main treatments available to slow the loss of vision due to macular degeneration. The first is an attempt to slow the progression of macular degeneration associated with high doses of vitamins (zinc + antioxidant supplements). The second treatment is the treatment of neovascularization choroid (CNV) – the pathologic lesion of wet macular degeneration. FDA-approved treatments for wet AMD include laser (thermal or PDT) and drugs (Macugen or Lucentis). submacular surgery trials were conducted but the results showed that this surgery does not help macular degeneration patients.
